EMERGENCY services attended two vehicle fires this morning within a mile of each other on the A64.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police, said: "A slightly unusual morning today on the A64. "Two vehicle fires, both within a mile of each other, both unconnected and both within the space of three hours.
"The first was a tractor which set alight just west of West Heslerton.
"The second was a van which set alight just east of East Knapton. Both drivers got out okay with no injuries.
"The road was closed in both directions but is now fully open."
