TWO people were taken to hospital after their car came off the road and crashed into trees.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle accident the northbound carriageway of the A19 near Mount Grace Priory on Saturday at about 12.50pm.
Paramedics treated the occupants of a blue Vauxhall Adam, a man and a woman, at the scene. An air ambulance was called to assist which required both north and southbound carriageways to be closed for a short period of time.
The man and woman were taken by land ambulance to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. Their injuries are described as none life-threatening.
The Highways Agency managed diversions and the northbound carriageway was fully open by 3.50pm.
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information should phone on 101, select option one and speak to the Force Control Room, quoting reference number 12200009989.
