CHEF Valentine Warner will be appearing at a special event at The Talbot Hotel in Malton on Friday.

The renowned chef, food writer, nature lover and owner of Hepple Gin Distillery will be talking about his new book, The Consolation of Food.

Not a straightforward cookbook, it is more of a food memoir, with the occasional recipe thrown in for good measure.

Guests will have the opportunity to meet the writer, while enjoying a pie and pint at the Talbot. Valentine will also be signing books after the event.

Tickets are £20, including pie and mash, and a pint.
