NORTON got into the festive spirit at the weekend with the annual Santa fun run and Christmas lights switch-on.
Dozens of Santas of all ages took part in the event, which raises funds for Ryedale Special Families (RSF).
The event, which was hosted by Ryan Swain, from Malton, also included a visit from Father Christmas fairground, stalls, food and drink, crazy golf and a Santa’s Grotto.
Rob Davies, fundraising co-ordinator for RSF, said: “It was another brilliant Santa run, particularly enjoyed by the youngsters. It’s great fun and looks brilliant with all those mini Santas running together. I’m sure it adds to the Christmas lights switch-on celebrations and would like to thank all those who took part and wish everyone a very happy Christmas.”
The festivities in Ryedale continue this weekend with the switch-on of the Christmas lights in Thornton-le-Dale at 6pm on Saturday.
In Helmsley Small Business Saturday celebrations take place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday.
Lynn Hempsall, Helmsley in Business committee member, said: “The festive fun day is always fantastic. Helmsley is known for its wide range of independent businesses and so Small Business Saturday is a great opportunity to celebrate how important they are in our community.”
