JUDD TRUMP has said that he would be willing to miss next year's UK Championship tournament, should an offer come in from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

Reigning UK champion Ronnie O'Sullivan has previously stated his openness to appearing on the reality TV show but he turned down an offer from ITV last year.

The current world champion and world number one secured his progression to the second round of the competition with a dominant 6-0 victory over Moroccan Amine Amiri at the Barbican in York.

But Trump may find himself down under instead of in the Minster city next year.

“I would go in the Jungle, but I’m scared of everything in there!" said Trump.

“I don’t know how long it’d last, but I’d love to give it a try.

“I don’t like bugs or anything like that, so I might struggle a little bit.

“I’d have to be one of those people where they have a doctor’s note for every trial!

“I’d be one of those that just sits on the bed and sleeps all day.

“I’d love to give something like that a go. Next year, maybe?

Asked whether he'd be willing to miss out on one of the sport's three Triple Crown events in order to feature, he replied “Yeah."

"I think if somebody did do it, it’d be good to get the game of snooker out there. To have a current snooker player in there, I think that that would boost snooker.

“What it needs is for someone to go in there and showcase themselves.

“I don’t really know many of them in there this year.

"But James (Haskell), the rugby player, has come across quite well from what I have seen."
