One person has died following a house fire in Thornton-le-Dale
A resident has died following a house fire in Thornton-le-Dale yesterday (Tuesday).
Fire crews were called to reports of a fire at the property in the village at around 12:30pm.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, said: "On arrival they found a fire to a bungalow. Crews rescued one person from the property and used a hose reel and main jets to tackle the fire.
"The individual rescued from the fire was treated by ambulance crews but was sadly pronounced dead.
"Investigations into the cause of the fire are on-going but it is not believed to be suspicious at this time."
