NORTON Road in Norton remains closed to traffic due to temporary flood pumps.
The Environment Agency brought in temporary pumps after the Mill Beck pumps failed on Tuesday.
The temporary pumps are now in place and pulling water out direct into the river.
An Environment Agency spokesperson said: “There was a power outage to the electricity supply to our pumping station on Mill Beck in Norton on Tuesday morning.
“We reacted quickly and implemented our contingency plan as soon as we became aware of the issue.
“We issued a flood warning to 23 properties and installed temporary pumps; two belonging to the Environment Agency and one from Ryedale District Council.
“We are monitoring the situation and will maintain the pumps in situ until we are certain the electrical supply has been resolved.”
