A MALTON performing arts school is celebrating its 30th anniversary, with pupils successfully auditioning for schemes and scholarships.

Kirkham Henry Performing Arts Centre, which is currently preparing for its production of The Nutcracker, specialises in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary dance, singing, music and drama.

Angela Kirkham, the school’s artistic director, said: “During our 30th year celebrations at Kirkham Henry Performing Arts, it is wonderful so many young people take their hobby extremely seriously and strive for excellence.

“It is amazing how many are working towards their professional qualifications and wish to go on in the industry.”

Evie Bates, Xanthe Cooke, Isobel Cooke, Hannah Copley, Scarlett Rich-Spriggs, Beatrice Small, Riley Walsh, Ella Piercy, Sophie Collier, Jess Swindells, Eloise Myers, Jack Gibson and Lincoln Walsh, who received a special award, have all successfully auditioned for the English Youth Ballet.

Ella Piercy has joined the Phoenix Youth Academy and Performers Elite Team were winners of the Can You Dance Intensive Scholarship and an IDTA scholarship nominee.

Sasha Wilson and Jack Robinson were Can You Dance Intensive winners.

Sophie Collier joined the Phoenix Youth Academy, Northern Ballet Senior Associates and recieved an IDTA scholarship nomination.

Maddison Farmer and Matilda Gledhill received a York Dance Scholars.

Ava-Lily Cooke joined the Centre of Advanced Training Northern Ballet Academy.

Jack Gibson and Eloise Myers joined the Northern Ballet Intermediate Associates.

Isla McDaid received a Phoenix Youth Academy scholarship. Jess Swindells joined the Phoenix Youth Academy and the Northern Ballet Senior Associates.
