A CRITICALLY acclaimed adaptation of A Christmas Carol is coming to Malton this December
Direct from the London stage, the Royal Shakespeare Company actor Dominic Gerrard, will present his intimate, candle-lit performance at York House at 8.30pm as well as a fully booked 6.30pm show.
Directed by former Globe associate Tim Carroll, this hour-long re-telling of Charles Dickens’s Christmas story features a Mandarava puppet for the central character of Ebenezer Scrooge and is suitable for ten year olds upwards.
Dickens’s great, great, great granddaughter, Lucinda Hawksley, said: “I was spellbound by Dominic’s one-man show of A Christmas Carol. It’s the perfect way to begin your Christmas.”
The performances will be hosted by Cause UK, whose managing director, Clair Challenor-Chadwick, said: “Dominic is coming to Malton after his performances in London at Leicester Square, Soho Theatre and at Dickens’s London home with the Charles Dickens Museum.
“We’re really proud to be bringing a show of this calibre here to celebrate the town’s long association with Charles Dickens.”
Dominic Gerrard presents A Christmas Carol on Friday, December 20 at York House, The Talbot Hotel, Malton.
