TWO celebrities have been lined-up for Scarborough’s Christmas lights switch-on next month.
Soap star Chris Gascoyne and aspiring country singer Twinnie Lee Moore will be lighting up the town centre for Christmas on Thursday, November 14, from 4pm.
Already full of babbles, bright lights and a golden tree, the event will kick-off a six-week festival in the lead-up to Christmas.
Portraying Coronation Street favourite Peter Barlow for more than 20 years, Chris said: “I love Scarborough, we used to bring the children here when they were young, and it had everything to offer the family.”
The festival will feature a cast of magicians and musicians, street performers and pantomime stars every late-night shopping Thursday and weekend in the countdown to Christmas.
Famed for her appearance in Oscar-nominated film the Wife, Twinnie said: “I am really excited to be turning the lights on this year, which is actually the first time I have done this, so the fact that it is in a place that feels like home is very fitting for Christmas.”
