A MAN was airlifted to hospital following a crash involving a car and HGV.
Emergency services were called to the A169 at Lockton Lane, Pickering, just after 3pm yesterday (Tuesday) to the accident which involved a Nissan Micra and HGV.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire Service said there were two causalities in the car - a female, who was not trapped, but had minor injuries, and one male, who was trapped with head injuries.
Fire crews from Pickering, Malton and Kirkbymoorside used hydraulic cutting gear to remove the roof and side of the car.
The spokesman added that the male casualty was taken to hospital via air ambulance.
