THIS week’s Way We Were has been sent to us by Mike Potter after he saw our recent feature on the 100th anniversary of the Forestry Commission.
The photographs were taken in Cropton Forest in 2011 and show the construction of the woody debris dams and mini bunds, and a later one of the dam “greened up” in 2018.
He said: “Here are some more recent ‘old’ photos about work the Forestry Commission has done in our area that has been truly ground-breaking, both nationally and internationally.”
