COLCHESTER United's charity arm has welcomed a commercial construction firm as its new sponsor.

MWP Frames Limited, which is based in Little Bromley, has signed up as title sponsor of Colchester United Football in the Community.

The firm has a long-established relationship with the club, taking an executive box at home games and sponsoring a number of club events in the past.

Now, it will lend its support to the club's growing community scheme, which provides coaching courses to youngsters and visits schools across north Essex.

Will Roberts, managing director of MWP Frames, said: "MWP is proud to extend its support to Colchester United this season by providing sponsorship to the Football in the Community team, which works very hard to bring football to schools, and term break football camps where children might not otherwise get to take part in this level of training provided by the Colchester United community coaching staff.

“It was a pleasure to meet the team at Shrub End and we wish them well to find the next rising stars to move into the academy and hopefully all the way to the first team.”

Colchester United Football in the Community has had a very successful 2019 so far and now the summer holidays are over, coaches will return to deliver football courses in different 65 schools.

Corin Haines, head of community, said: "MWP are an excellent business and we’re delighted that they have made this commitment and investment to the support the ongoing work we undertake within our community on a daily basis.

“We look forward to seeing the MWP logo reaching the 7,500 plus participants each week who engage in our provision, and developing our mutually beneficial partnership over the term of the sponsorship.”
