STUDENTS at Malton School have been celebrating an impressive set of GCSE results with 20 students achieving five or more GCSEs at grade 7 or above.

Both male and female students outperformed the national rates of achievement for each gender - with 10 students even achieving the grade 7 or above standard in eight or more subjects.

Head teacher Rob Williams said: “I want to congratulate the students - they have worked hard to achieve this impressive success.

“The students can feel proud of the results and enjoy the moment with their families.

“The school is committed to maintaining a broad educational platform as a firm foundation for future success and so students at Malton still have access to four GCSE option choices - it was pleasing therefore to see strong-value added progress scores across the curriculum offer.

“As a year group the students have made excellent progress during their time at the school with significant value being added to their performance in these GCSE results.

“The success was achieved across the board - students of a higher, middle or lower prior ability all saw value being added to their performance.

“I also want to praise the staff team here for their dedication and the hard work they have put in to support the students along the way.”
