MOUNTAIN rescue teams were called in to help ambulance crews after a woman suffered a leg injury in a popular tourist spot.
Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue (SRMRT) were called to Mallyan Spout waterfall by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service just after 4.30pm yesterday (Tuesday).
A spokesman for SRMRT said: "We were called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service with a request for the team to extract a female with a lower leg injury from the boulder field at the base of the Mallyan Spout waterfall.
"The patient was treated on site and then carried from the find site to a waiting ambulance at the road side in Goathland."
