PUPILS at Pickering Community Infant and Nursery School have put on a show of their artistic achievements over the year.

The exhibition, which ran for several days at the end of June, displayed a variety of work in a range of different materials.

Head teacher Sarah Gilam said: “Our art exhibition has been an annual event for the last 24 years and has become a traditional part of our school calendar.

“It is a great opportunity to show case and celebrate the artistic skills across school in art, design and music.”

Mrs Gilam added: “The exhibition has evolved in recent years to reflect the learning of key skills that the children need in order to produce their finished pieces of art work that are on display too.

“The children have worked with a range of media over the year and the exhibition shows this with everything from pencil drawings and colourful paintings to clay sculptures and collages using real fruit and vegetables.”
