DUCKS are at the ready for the annual Slingsby Duck Race on Saturday.
The event is part of a family fun day, organised by the Friends of Slingsby School (FOSS) to raise funds for the school.
The fun day takes place from 11am to 3pm at Slingsby sportsfield, with ducks being released at 2pm. Other activities will include face painting, a bouncy castle, hook-a-duck, tombola and raffle, with refreshments, including a barbecue available throughout the day.
Entry is free and ducks, priced at £2, can be bought on the day or from the school in advance.
Prizes will be awarded to the first three ducks to cross the line.
A spokesman for FOSS said: “Come and help us celebrate the 28th year of the annual Slingsby Duck Race and help raise funds for our local school.”
