MUSIC, storytelling and poetry will be seen in the spectacular setting of the town’s unique Rotunda Museum next month, in the third in the popular Rotunda Nights.
Rotunda Nights, from 6.30pm to 9pm on Saturday, July 20, will feature poet Vicky Foster, storytellers Linda Polkowski and Elaine Minns and music from Maisie Atkinson.
Vicky is a newly-emerging poetic talent from Hull. She came to prominence as a performer during the City of Culture events in 2017. Her work has been showcased on BBC Radios 3 and 4 and her moving and brilliant autobiographical drama Bathwater was a Radio 4 Afternoon Play earlier this year.
Singer-songwriter Maisie is from Scarborough. She has performed across Yorkshire in bands, with Beach Hut Theatre and as a solo artist. .Scarborough-told Stories presents Elaine and Linda, two of the first graduates of an acclaimed local storytelling workshop course who will weave their spells on a summer night in the atmospheric Rotunda.
Simon Hedges, Head of Curation, Collections and Exhibitions at Scarborough Museums Trust, which runs the Rotunda Museum and Scarborough Art Gallery, said: “This is the third in our series of Rotunda Nights, and we’re expecting it to be as popular as the first two, which both sold out.”
Tickets for Rotunda Nights cost £5 and include a complimentary drink. To book call 01723 353665.
