A 900KG bull has been rescued from the river in Malton.
The beast, named 'Craig', was helped from the water by North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue teams this afternoon.
A fire spokesperson said that the animal rescue team from Malton attended, alongside a crew from Pickering and a fire officer, after they were called at around 12.30pm.
Craig was pulled from the water using water rescue equipment including an inflatable dinghy.
The crews described the two-hour operation as "challenging", but added that Craig is now safe and sound back in his field.
