A CHARITY golf day organised by Malton and Norton Lions Club has raised more than £3,000.
Thirty five teams turned out and enjoyed a superb round of golf in glorious sunshine, followed by a meal, at Sandburn Hall Golf Club.
The event raised £3,400, all of which will go towards supporting local groups and individuals locally.
Many local businesses provided sponsorship and the players gave generously towards various raffles and competitions on the day. The event was run by Lions members and catering provided by Sandburn.
The winning men’s team, representing North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, was captained by Steve King. The winning ladies team, representing John Barrington Frames, was captained by Kate Miller.
The event has been running several years and is the Lions second most successful fundraiser after the Christmas sleigh.
