DIVE into the deep and discover more about the future of our oceans with I am Turtle, an enchanting adventure for children that comes to Helmsley Arts Centre this May half-term.

Featuring puppetry and live music, I am Turtle will take

children aged three and above on a journey into the deep blue sea, through shipwrecks and seashells, to discover the ancient song of the sea turtle.

But their underwater world is in peril from plastics and beasts of the deep, so audiences young and old are invited to hear their story and find out what they can do to take care of the turtle’s home.

Helmsley Arts Centre is delighted to be able to show the premiere of this new production by The Makeshift Ensemble, a company which produces magical, thought-provoking stories for children.

With a large dollop of enjoyment and an aim to incite small acts of revolution through live theatre, I am Turtle challenges the way we use plastics and promotes a message of environmental responsibility in a fun and unique way.

A tale to enchant listeners young and old, make sure you catch this enthralling delve into the great oceans to hear turtle’s story and what we can do to take care of their home.

Based on the lyrical children’s book Turtle’s Song by Alan Brown and Kim Toft, this is a perfect half-term event for children and grown-ups.

The Makeshift Ensemble, with support from Norwich Puppet Theatre, present ‘I Am Turtle’ on Saturday, June 1, at 2.30pm.

Tickets are £9 for adults and £7 for under 16s. A family ticket for two adults and two children is £28.
