CHILDREN at Malton Primary School have been rewarded for helping to reduce waste in their school and community.
The school took part in Waste Aware Week in April, by looking into ways to reduce and reuse single-use plastics.
Jo Breckon, the lead for Eco Schools, said: “With public interest high in plastic pollution, the school took part in Waste Aware, by looking into ways to reduce and reuse single-use plastics both in school at at home. All of this work has contributed to the successful completion of the Eco Schools silver award.
“The award is driven by ideas and work undertaken by the pupils and I am very proud of their commitment and enthusiasm.”
