FIREFIGHTERS were called to a 103-year-old man's flat this morning to put out a small fire.
North Yorkshire fire service said a crew was called to the flat at about 8.30am after a smoke alarm was triggered.
The service tweeted: "Smoke alarm did its job detecting a minor fire in the grill pan. Crews carried out safe and well checks & this lovely chap is looking forward to his 104th birthday in 10 days."
