PEOPLE are being urged to give their feedback on whether they would like to see a permanent ban on large vehicles from the level crossing in Norton.
North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) is running a consultation until May 24 on whether they think HGV weight restrictions should continue.
The restriction prohibits commercial vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tonnes from using the crossing. A temporary 18-month ban came into effect in February.
County Councillor Don Mackenzie, executive member for highways, said: “Reducing air pollution in Malton is a priority for us, but we also want to make sure this move doesn’t simply move problems elsewhere. We would like as many people as possible to get in touch with their views, which we will take on board when deciding whether to continue indefinitely with this ban.” For details, visit northyorks.gov.uk/hgv-weight-restriction-norton-level-crossing
