ORGANISERS of this year’s Beertown are turning Malton into a “theatre of beer” with some of the best beers from breweries in the UK and beyond.

Now in its sixth year, Beertown, takes place at the Milton Rooms, from today (Thursday) to Saturday.

Chris Waplington, from Bad Seed Brewery, said: “We’re building on the huge success that we met with last year after we changed the festival format to allow us to squeeze in even more beer. ”

Phil Saltonstall, from Brass Castle Brewery, said: “Our beer list presents a wide range of beers from the best breweries across the UK - beers that excite us as brewers and are loved by the public, from Yorkshire’s cutting-edge breweries such as Northern Monk, North, Wilde Child, Brew York, North Riding, B.A.D. Co and Turning Point, as well as some further afield.”

The new Malton Brewery will be showcasing their Heritage Bitter and there will also be a gin bar, cider bar, live music and food. The event raises money for Ryedale Special Families and the Milton Rooms. Tickets are £6. To book, go to beertownmalton.com
