PLAYERS, volunteers and friends from Sheriff Hutton Bridge Cricket Club took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks last month, raising more than £4,000 for York Against Cancer and for their volunteer-led cricket club.
The 26-mile walk was completed in a respectable 10.5 hours and the team even picked up sponsorship from fellow walkers along the way. Club skipper Adam Fisher said: “The walk was great, especially meeting volunteers from the club who provided food, coffee and a tonne of motivation after the second peak.”
Sheriff Hutton Bridge CC offers coaching from as young as five up to their senior team which plays in the Yorkshire Premier League.
