PICKERING Rotary Club has funded the provision of a defibrillator in the town’s Eastgate car park.
The installation was instigated by retired doctor and Rotarian David Capes.
Sue Harris, president of Pickering Rotary Club, said: “I am delighted that the Rotary has funded this vital piece of life-saving equipment which will benefit the local community as well as the many visitors to Pickering.”
Rosy Smith, Ryedale District Council’s (RDC) building surveyor, said: “The liaison between Pickering Rotary Club and the council’s community team has worked extremely well. We hope to see more similar joint ventures.”
To access the defibrillator in an emergency, phone 999 and the operator will give you a key code to open the box.
