ESSENTIAL surface dressing is being carried out in Helmsley next week.
One of the sites, Carlton Road, will start in the town and continue for a mile beyond Carlton village.
The width of the road beyond Helmsley means this work needs to be done under a full closure, so there will be no access while the work is ongoing, except for emergency services. There will be a signed diversion through Bransdale to Cockayne before turning south towards Fadmoor and Kirkbymoorside.
The work is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14 , and Wednesday, May 15, but surface dressing is weather-dependant, so these dates may change. Any changes will be notified on roadside signs. To limit the impact on the public, work will be restricted to between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
