FIRE and rescue services have issued a warning about turning off electrical items following an incident in Malton at the weekend.
Fire crews from Malton and Pickering stations attended an incident at a house at around 2.30pm on Saturday.
Malton fire services said that the damage in these images was caused by an electrical fire - and offered advice on how to properly store such items.
They also said that reflective items should be moved away from windows, particularly in the current sunshine.
They said: "Please turn off and unplug electrical items not in use, and don’t leave them unattended.
"Also, remove objects from the windows - such as lamps or mirrors - during this hot weather."
