FOUR fire engines have attended the Talbot Hotel in Malton.
It's understood there were reports of smoke - a spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue confirmed that the crews attended and investigated.
The service has since said on social media that the reports of smoke were in the attic space of the hotel, but that it was a "false alarm due to smoke from a chimney percolating into the roof space".
Crews used a thermal imaging camera for inspection.
Engines from Malton, Pickering and Huntington attended.
