A RYEDALE School pupil will perform at a festival this weekend in the hope of winning a top title.
Jasmin Javaherian, a Year 9 student, has previously won three piano categories at Harrogate Competitive Festival for Music, Speech and Drama.
Competing against pupils older than her, she won the piano solo in the Year 13 and under category, the Chopin class, and was also the piano solo championship winner.
Jasmin will now perform in the festival’s finale concert on Sunday, competing for the title of the young musician of the festival.
Andrew Moxon, music teacher at Ryedale School, said: “We are all very proud of Jasmin’s achievements. She is a gifted musician who works hard to make the most of her talent. I am sure that she will perform brilliantly in the concert.”
