PUPILS from Malton Primary School have been learning about building materials and new homes while on-site at a new development in the town.

Housebuilders Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire recently welcomed the 26 pupils to its Broughton Manor development.

The Year 1 class had a guided tour of the site and were able to see homes at every stage of the construction process.

Teacher Simone Miller said: “We’re currently learning about what makes a good home, so the visit really helped reinforce everything we have been teaching in the classroom.

“The team at Taylor Wimpey went above and beyond to make sure the kids had a great time looking around the site. We can’t thank them enough.”

Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire has worked with Malton Primary School on various initiatives and projects since the site launched in 2013.

Alec Edwards, site manager at Broughton Manor, added: “It was an absolute pleasure to have the pupils from Malton Primary School visit for the second year in a row.

“They were a real joy to show round and asked some great questions. We hope they enjoyed it as much as we did.”
