AN annual 10k race has raised £4,400 for charity.

The Dalby Dash 10K race is held every year on Remembrance Sunday and is overseen by honorary Pickering Rotarian Darran Bilton, who acts as the race director.

The race has been run eight times, and the 2018 event attracted 600 runners and raised £4,400, which has been divided between Help for Heroes, Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue and Rotary charities.

Rotary president Sue Harris said: “I am very impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment of all the organisers, runners and spectators, who make this annual event such a success. Rotary members are delighted to be involved, especially as Dalby Forest is such a spectacular venue.”

Darran said entries for next year’s race are already been taken.

“We already have over 300 entries, and we are limited to a maximum of 600, so please do not delay in putting your entry in,” he said.
