TWO goals in the last eight minutes condemned Scarborough Athletic to a 2-1 defeat at Witton Albion in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division

Steve Kittrick's visitors took the lead through a 19th-minute strike from James Walshaw, but they couldn't hang on for a precious three points in their promotion charge.

Witton hit back with a heartbreaking late show, as James Foley's 82nd-minute penalty was doubled by Daniel McKenna's effort three minutes later.

The devastating defeat sees the Seadogs slip to sixth in the table, while Witton are breathing down their necks in 10th place.

In Division One, there was no better luck for Pickering Town as they went down to a 2-0 home defeat against Cleethorpes Town.

The Pikes were buoyed pre-match by the signing of teenage midfielder Archie Whitfield on a dual registration with York City.

However, Town could not make this boost pay and lost, despite the clash being goalless at half-time. Cleethorpes's goals came via a 71st-minute penalty and a strike six minutes from time.

Knaresborough Town moved up to seventh in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division Premier Division following a 1-0 win over Barton Town.

Adam Baker's strike in the 35th minute was enough to give Town all three points.

An 88th-minute winner from Liam Flanagan guided Selby Town to a 3-2 home victory over Dronfield Town.

The triumph puts Selby into eighth place and their other two goals came courtesy of Louis Hutton (12) and Alasan Ann (78).

Meanwhile, Harrogate Town are eighth in the Vanarama National League following a 1-1 home draw with Dagenham & Redbridge.

Callum Howe's eighth goal of the season gave Town a 55th-minute lead, but it was late heartbreak for his side as Connor Wilkinson struck for the Daggers in the 92nd minute.

Simon Weaver, Town manager, said: "We've got to pick ourselves up, it's disappointing because we were so close to another really good display."
