PICKERING-based travel writer Jules Brown, the author of new e-book Takoradi to the stars (via Huddersfield), is launching his memoir at Barkers Cafe-Bar in Helmsley tomorrow (Thursday).

The book is a heartwarming search for home and identity by a seasoned traveller with a quirky take on travel writing. Born in Ghana, raised in Yorkshire, and sent around the world by Rough Guides, Jules’ books chart his adventurous life in travel, from West Africa to Whitby and all points between.

Born in Takoradi in Ghana, and brought up in Huddersfield, Jules has made North Yorkshire his home for many years, first in Whitby and, after spells in New Zealand and Portugal, now in Pickering.

Jules will be reading extracts from his book and travel blog at 5.30pm, and will be hosting a Q&A afterwards.
