PUPILS at Malton Primary School have taken part in a national celebration of the work of Shakespeare.
As part of the week-long event, the children took part in workshops and performances.
Head teacher Kelly Reppold said: “The pupils spent the day working with Splats Theatre Company.
“Having experienced A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the autumn term, the children in Years 3 to 5 participated in several workshops and performed a ‘play in a day’ based on The Tempest.
“The visit took place as part of the school’s Shakespeare week, which is a national annual celebration giving children opportunities for enriching and enjoyable early encounters with Shakespeare.
“We are working hard to provide pupils with cultural experiences to complement the school’s social, moral, and spiritual education.
“We aim to enrich learning beyond the classroom and indeed beyond the school.”
