A WOMAN with an ankle injury had to be airlifted off the Wolds on Friday.
At about 4pm, Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team were called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to the scene north of Helperthorpe on the Yorkshire Wolds, as the location was inaccessible to a road ambulance.
Because of the remote location they used a special mobile app to confirm the exact location of the patient.
The woman was then treated and flown to definitive medical care by one of the Yorkshire Air Ambulances.
