EXPERIENCE powerful storytelling, captivating puppetry and a sprinkling of magic this February half-term at Pocklington Arts Centre (PAC) when The Selfish Giant comes to town.

Children will also get the chance to “meet and greet” the characters and puppets from the show when it comes to PAC on Wednesday, February 20.

PAC director Janet Farmer said: “What a wonderful way to start off our season of theatre at PAC than with this truly magnificent and magical tale.

“It has everything that makes for a fantastic family-friendly stage show, including brilliant storytelling, amazing puppetry and captivating music.”

The Selfish Giant tells the tale of Grinter the giant who lives happily alone in her huge cold house, surrounded by her huge snowy gardens, enclosed by her high, frost-covered walls.

Outside the towering walls of her enormous garden, the world has been changing and there is very little green left. One day, the children - tired of playing on hard roads and grey rooftops - find a chink in the giant’s wall and climb through, changing the course of the children’s and Grinter’s lives forever.

The Selfish Giant is suitable for ages three plus.
