WITH the pantomime season in full swing, this week we look back at some of the previous productions which have taken to the stage over the decades.

These pictures were supplied by the Woodhams-Stone Collection and are most likely Malton and Norton Operatic Society. There are few details about the photos apart from the 1955 pantomime with Alwyn Hale as Robin Hood and Doreen Willis as Maid Marion.

The Woodhams-Stone Collection Trust was formed in 2011 to secure the future of two significant local history collections for the communities of Malton and Norton.

Sid Woodhams has spent more than 60 years collecting objects relating to local businesses and trades, while John Stone has collected hundreds of postcards and photographs showing the streets and landmarks of Malton, Old Malton and Norton and surrounding villages, from about 1900 to the present day. Together with his large paper-based archive.

Sid and John agreed to gift their collections to Malton and Norton with the wish they should be displayed to the public in the towns where they originated.
