A PERSONAL trainer who specialises in providing health and fitness for adults and children with special needs has opened a fitness studio.

Toni Lamb, who has more than 10 years experience in the industry, runs Panther Fitness in Hutton-le-Hole.

She said: “I specialise in, and am qualified in, providing health and fitness with older adults, those with disabilities, pre and post-natal women, children and young adults, as well as obviously the general public.

“My own daughter has special needs and attends Welburn Hall School and I have enjoyed working with her medical team in learning more about this particular group.”

Toni said she ran two older adults fitness sessions in Pickering once a week which have been successful.

“I currently have two clients on my books who are wheelchair-bound and they too are enjoying the benefits of working with me,” she said.

“I have clients who, following surgery, have gained full mobility having not felt supported with their rehabilitation.

“I have helped clients improve their cardio output and reduced their reliance on insulin for Type 2 Diabetes, and a couple who have come off it completely.”

Toni added: “I love my community and doing the role I do and want to continue in helping those that need and want help other than those that just want to loose weight or build muscles.

“I will obviously still be taking on personal training clients and still intend to be mobile visiting my clients that choose to have me see them at home.

“However, having the studio gives me a great base not only for my classes, but importantly my weight management and specialist health and fitness offering for those that can make it to the village.”
