FIRE services were called out to two incidents in Ryedale on Saturday morning, including a wood burning stove.
A crew from Malton went to a house in Duggleby at 9.42am and extinguished a fire started by a wood burning stove. They used a hearth kit to extinguish the flames and gave advice to the occupiers before leaving.
Not long after, at about 10am, a crew from the Huntington station attended reports of smoke coming from a car in Sheriff Hutton.
However, a spokesman from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said that, on arrival, this was a false alarm and no evidence of a fire could be found.
