PUPILS at West Heslerton Primary School are helping others this Christmas by runningtheir own Fairtrade stall.

The children, from Years 5 and 6, have been selling a variety of Fairtrade goods to family and friends.

Head teacher Rachel Wells said: “We are a Fairtrade school and the children really take an interest in Fairtrade products and where their money goes.

“The children have really enjoyed shopping have been able to buy presents for their family and friends.”

Mrs Wells said the products had been supplied by Malton and Norton Fairtrade Group.

“So far we have taken more than £300 which is amazing for a school with 60 pupils,” she added.

“We would like to thank the Fairtrade group and Janice Gwilliam for keeping the stall stocked.”
