A MALTON based bus driver has scooped silver in a national bus industry awards.
Adam Davies, who drives the Coastliner bus on what was recently officially named "Britain’s Most Scenic Bus Route", was one of eight nominees vying for the national top driver prize at the UK Bus Awards.
The results were announced yesterday at a ceremony at Troxy in East London.
Adam said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be coming home with silver. It's been an amazing experience, and I've met some wonderful people.
"Big thank you to the UK Bus Awards and to everybody that's been involved in my nomination, and a massive well done to all the other finalists."
Coastliner tweeted: "Huge congratulations to our very own Adam Davies who scooped Silver in the hotly contested Top National Driver competition - a fiercely competitive award recognising the thousands of bus drivers up and down the country. We’re so proud!"
