THE petrol filling station in Middleton, near Pickering, is due to undergo a significant refurbishment.
The Esso-branded station will demolish and replace its forecourt canopy, install new pump islands, replace the shop front and underground tanks, and create additional parking bays.
The application is recommended for approval by planning officers at Ryedale District Council when it is discussed at a meeting of the council’s planning committee tonight (Tuesday).
The officer report concludes: “The proposed redevelopment of the filling station and shop would modernise the site.
“In addition, existing jobs would be secured in the long term and short term employment would be created during the construction phase.”
