A RIVERSIDE pub in Pickering is up for sale and will be auctioned next month.

The Rose Inn, Bridge Street, will feature among 50 lots in the next Yorkshire and North East Pugh property auction, held at Leeds United’s Elland Road football ground in Leeds on December 4.

According to the auctioneers, the Grade-II listed pub is run by leisure company Trickswitch and generates an income of £25,000 a year.

The building will be auctioned with a guide price of £210,000.

Paul Thompson, managing director of property auction house Pugh, said: “With parts of the building thought to date back to the 17th century, the pub has fantastic character and charm.

“Right next to the river and two minutes from the train station, the pub is in an excellent spot next to Pickering Bridge.

“The Rose Inn is a great opportunity for investors in a busy market town.”

Established 26 years ago, Pugh is the largest auctioneer outside of London.
