ARMED robbers threatened a woman before making off with cash from a shop’s till on Sunday.

With one wielding a weapon, the trio of men targeted Habib News on Ayresome Green Lane in Middlesbrough at about 4.30pm.

A woman in the shop was left shaken after being threatened before the men fled the scene with money taken from the till.

Police are now hunting those responsible for the robbery, with the one carrying the weapon described as wearing all black, with trousers with white stripes on the outside of the legs – possibly Adidas – and a top with a large white, round emblem on the chest.

A second man was wearing a light blue hooded top with the hood worn up, red jogging bottoms or trousers, dark shoes and one black glove on his right hand. He was carrying a black shoulder bag.

The third man, thought to be around 5ft 9ins tall, was wearing a grey jacket with its hood up, grey trousers, black boots and a black and white face mask.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact DC Kate Brodie on non-emergency number 101 quoting 207942 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
