FINAL preparations are being made for St Michael’s Church Christmas fair on Saturday.

It will take place at the Milton Rooms from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Romey Willis, one of the organisers, said: “This year we are going to put more emphasis on our refreshments as people loved the coffee and bacon sandwiches in the morning and need more room to sit and enjoy them.”

Mrs Willis said they also wanted to thank those who helped raise funds, including Carolyn Richardson who is leaving Malton to be nearer her family in the south. “Over the past few years, while she has attended St Michael’s and been a member of the choir, Carolyn has raised over £5,000 with her marmalade and jams, selling them at garden fetes that she and her husband organised and outside church at our table top sales and Christmas fairs. Carolyn has been a marvellous fundraiser and we shall miss her.”
