A RALLY driver has donated funds from the sale of his autobiography to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA).
Yuk Hodgson, from Barton Hill, handed over a cheque for £1,715.64 to the charity following the successful sale of his autobiography Yuks Fast Book over the past three years.
The book is a look back on his 50 years of driving rally cars and has so far sold 1,000 copies worldwide.
Yuk said: “I was keen to make a decent donation to the YAA from the sales of my book, as motor sport competitors in this area are always grateful to know these professionals are on hand should something go wrong.”
Kevin Hutchinson, YAA community fundraiser for East and North East Yorkshire, said: “On behalf of everyone at the YAA, we’d like to sincerely thank Yuk and his team for their fantastic donation and support they have given us.
“As an independent charity, we rely on individuals, groups and organisations to help us raise the vital monies we need each and every day.
“Their donation will enable us to continue to help save lives across Yorkshire, and for that we are extremely grateful.”
