Floral tributes have been left to a man in his early twenties who died after collapsing in the street in Norton.
The tributes, which also include cards, have been places near the Costcutter store where the man collapsed on Tuesday.
One message said: "Can't believe what's happened. Miss you lots bro. Love you."
Another added:"Gonna be mad not seeing your face about anymore."
North Yorkshire police said they had been called shortly after 3.30pm on Tuesday to a report of the sudden death of a man in his early twenties.
"The man was found collapsed in Norton, outside the Costcutter store on Commercial Street at around 2.15pm," they added.
"He was taken to York District Hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead.
"At the moment the death is unexplained, and enquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident. "
A man in his twenties has been arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
