A MICROWAVE has caught fire in a flat in Malton.
Two North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue crews from Malton station were called to the scene in the first floor flat at 6.30pm last night.
A spokesperson said that the firemen used a hose reel jet to fight the fire, then ventilated the property and checked for hotspots with a thermal imaging camera.
They then fitted smoke alarms and alerted the occupant.
